Czech ZDP to permanent residence: how are temporary-protection and ZDP years counted?

Short answer

IPC explicitly states that ZDP counts in full toward the five-year permanent-residence period, while previous temporary-protection residence counts at one half.

What to do step by step

  1. 1

Count the entire valid ZDP period at 100%.

  2. 2

Count the preceding continuous temporary-protection period at 50%.

  3. 3

Check for breaks in lawful residence and the other permanent-residence conditions.

  4. 4

Do not use only your first arrival date; use the legal history of your statuses.

Important

ZDP and permanent residence are different permits. Reaching five calculated years does not replace the other requirements.
