Short answer
The CNP is the Romanian ID number. It is often printed on the temporary-protection permit when assigned in this procedure. Doctors, schools and employers ask for it. Where to go: IGI.
Where to go
IGI
What to prepare
- · Temporary-protection residence permit
- · Passport, ID, or another identity document
- · Any IGI receipt/document issued during registration
- · A document showing the correct spelling/date of birth if you are correcting an error
What to do step by step
- 1
Copy the CNP only from the official IGI permit/certificate
- 2
If the CNP is missing or wrong, go back to IGI for correction — not to an intermediary
- 3
For healthcare/school, bring the permit and CNP together
Important
The CNP alone does not replace the permit. Do not dictate the full number in Telegram 'for subsidy registration'.
